Rev. Ryan Bradney
Pastor Ryan began serving with First Presbyterian Church on July 1, 2026 and is excited to join
in what God is doing here with the congregation and wider community.
Ryan joins the ministry of First Presbyterian after fruitful years with wonderful PCUSA churches
in the Evansville and Lexington, Kentucky area.
While pastoring in the Lexington area, Ryan also served as coach for Community Improv,
whose mission is good improv for the good of the community. This mission started in 2015 when
Ryan and two deacons began sharing a weekly improv class with the residents of the Clark
County Homeless Coalition. The class grew to a community-wide touring group of youth and
adults working with schools, churches, and groups across the region.
Prior to pastoral ministry, Ryan served for ten years in ministry with children, youth, and families
including serving as a youth minister in St. Louis, chaplain with a youth residential treatment
center in Louisville, and as assistant program director with the Boys & Girls Club in IIlinois.
Ryan earned his Bachelors Degree from Illinois College and his Masters of Divinity from
Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary. While attending Louisville Seminary, Ryan
completed his field education requirements serving here at First Presbyterian Church as a
student pastor, and is joyfully welcomed back.
Ryan enjoys good books on history and leadership, cheering on his favorite teams, finding faith
connections in movies, and some delicious BBQ.
He is married to Andrea and enjoys spending time outdoors with her and their two rescue pups.
